How to Setup and Optimize your CGMiner Config File

such beginner shibe thread wow how to get coin

 how to shibecoin v rich in minutes much instruct so simple any doge can do

START HERE

UPDATE 1/21/14: I'm not updating this guide anymore. Most of the steps should still work though. See the wiki or check the sidebar for updated instructions.
Before you do anything else, you need to get a wallet. Until there's a secure online wallet, this means you need to download the dogecoin client.
Now open the client you just downloaded. You'll be given a default address automatically, and it should connect to peers and start downloading the dogechain (aka blockchain in formal speak). You'll know because there will be a progress bar at the bottom and at the lower right there should be a signal strength icon (TODO: add screenshots).
If you've waited 2 or 3 minutes and nothing is happening, copy this:
maxconnections=100 addnode=95.85.29.144 addnode=162.243.113.110 addnode=146.185.181.114 addnode=188.165.19.28 addnode=166.78.155.36 addnode=doge.scryptpools.com addnode=doge.netcodepool.org addnode=doge.pool.webxass.de addnode=doge.cryptopool.it addnode=pool.testserverino.de addnode=doge.luckyminers.com addnode=doge.cryptovalley.com addnode=miner.coinedup.comdoge addnode=doge.cryptoculture.net addnode=dogepool.pw addnode=doge.gentoomen.org addnode=doge.cryptominer.net addnode=67.205.20.10 addnode=162.243.113.110 addnode=78.46.57.132
And paste it into a new text file called dogecoin.conf, which you then place into the dogecoin app directory.
Now restart your qt client and the blockchain should start downloading in about 1-2 minutes.
Once it finished downloading, you're ready to send and receive Dogecoins!

GETTING COINS

Decide how you want to get Dogecoin. Your options are:
I'll go into detail about each of these. I'm currently writing this out. I'll make edits as I add sections. Suggestions are welcome.

MINING

Mining is how new dogecoins are created. If you're new to crypto currencies, read this. To mine (also called "digging"), a computer with a decent GPU (graphics card) is recommended. You can also mine with your CPU, but it's not as efficient.

GPU MINING

These instructions cover only Windows for now. To mine, you'll need to figure out what GPU you have. It'll be either AMD/ATI or Nvidia. The setup for both is approximately the same.

Step One: Choose a pool

There's a list of pools on the wiki. For now it doesn't really matter which one you choose. You can easily switch later.
NOTE: You can mine in two ways. Solo mining is where you mine by yourself. When you find a block you get all the reward. Pool mining is when you team up with other miners to work on the same block together. This makes it more likely that you'll find a block, but you won't get all of it, you'll have to split it up with others according to your share of the work. Pool mining is recommended because it gives you frequent payouts, because you find more blocks. The larger the pool you join, the more frequent the payouts, but the smaller the reward you get.
Over a long period of time the difference between pool and solo mining goes away, but if you solo mine it might be months before you get any coins.

Step two: Set up pool account

The pool you chose should have a getting started page. Read it and follow the instructions. Instructions vary but the general idea is:
When you're done with this, you'll need to know:

Step three: Download mining software

For best performance you'll need the right mining software.
Unzip the download anywhere you want.

Step four: Set up miner

Create a text file in the same folder as your miner application. Inside, put the command you'll be running (remove brackets).
For AMD it's cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://: -u -p
For Nvidia it's cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://: -O :
Substitute the right stuff in for the placeholders. Then on the next line of the text file type pause. This will let you see any errors that you get. Then save the file with any name you want, as long as the file extension is .bat. For example mine_serverName.bat.

Step five: Launch your miner

Just open the .bat file and a command line window should pop up, letting you know that the miner is starting. Once it starts, it should print out your hash rate.
If you now go to the pool website, the dashboard should start showing your hashrate. At first it'll be lower than what it says in the miner, but that's because the dashboard is taking a 5 minute average. It'll catch up soon enough.
NOTE: A normal hashrate is between 50 Kh/s up to even 1 Mh/s depending on your GPU.

You're now mining Dogecoins

That's it, nothing more to it.

CPU MINING

CPU mining isn't really recommended, because you'll be spending a lot on more on power than you'd make from mining Dogecoin. You could better spend that money on buying Dogecoin by trading. But if you have free electricity and want to try it out, check out this informative forum post.

Trading

Trading has been difficult so far, but Dogecoin just got added to a few new exchanges. If you don't have a giant mining rig, this is probably the best way to get 100k or more dogecoins at the moment. I'll write up a more complete guide, but for now check out these sites:

Faucets

Faucets are sites that give out free coins. Usually a site will give out somewhere between 1 and 100 Dogecoin. Every site has its own time limits, but usually you can only receive coins once every few hours, or in some cases, days. It's a great way to get started. All you do is copy your address from the receive section of your wallet and enter it on some faucet sites. Check out /dogecoinfaucets for more. If you go to each site on there you might end up with a couple hundred Dogecoin!

Begging

This method is pretty straightforward. Post your receiving address, and ask for some coins. Such poor shibe. The only catch is, don't do it here! Please go to /dogecoinbeg.

Tips

At the moment there are two tip bots:
Other redditors can give you Dogecoin by summoning the tip bot, something like this:
+dogetipbot 5 doge
This might happen if you make a good post, or someone just wants to give out some coins. Once you receive a tip you have to accept it in a few days or else it'll get returned. Do this by following the instructions on the message you receive in your inbox. You reply to the bot with "+accept". Commands go in the message body. Once you do that, the bot will create a tipping address for you, and you can use the links in the message you receive to see your info, withdraw coins to your dogecoin-qt wallet, see your history, and a bunch of other stuff.
As a bonus, so_doge_tip has a feature where you can get some Dogecoins to start with in exchange for how much karma you have. To do this, send the message "+redeem DOGE" to so_doge_tip. You'll need to create a tipping account if you don't have one.
If you want to create a tipping account without ever being tipped first, message either of the bots with "+register" and an address will be created for you.

How to Earn Money Mining Virtual Currency With Your Average Computer - A Full Guide

Lately I've been exploring some alternatives to the typical grind that is online work. I've always followed Bitcoin pretty closely and knew of Bitcoin mining, but I was also aware of how difficult it's become. The difficulty is so high it's not even worth trying with the average computer. However, as of late there has been an explosion of new virtual coins. There are now hundreds (if not thousands) being mined. There is debate on how much of a help or hindrance all these altcoins are to the world of virtual currency, but regardless they open up a lot of chances to earn money with your average computers unused resources.
I decided to start digging into all the altcoins and find one that was new, easy to mine, had a solid and dedicated dev team, and a solid purpose so it's less likely to die off. What I ended up with was CasinoCoin. At the time it was sitting around $0.009 USD each, and fit all of my requirements. I took my two laptops with their i3 cpu's and no gpu's (20kH/s total) and set them to work mining at MooPool.com. A couple days later around the time I hit 300 coins the price jumped up to a peak of $0.11, and my poke at mining altcoin turned into $33. Now I'm not saying this is a ton of money, but consider the fact that I was only mining at 20kH/s on CPU's. Better computers (especially those with GPU's) will mine many more CasinoCoins.
So with my recent tests a success I figured I'd share my findings and make an easy guide to mining virtual currency. This quick guide will be done for CasinoCoin over at MooPool.com since it's my coin of choice, but can be applied to any virtual currency.
GPU Guide (You can run a miner for every GPU and CPU you have)
To my knowledge the most efficient GPU miner at the moment is CudaMiner
cuda miner is a miner specifically designed for Nvidia's architecture. Nvidia's cuda cores are not well suited for alt coin mining, so cuda miner helps you to get the most of Nvidia cards. If you have an AMD GPU, cgminer is what you want to use. -zekezander
Download the correct version for your machine and extract the archive to a folder somewhere convenient.
Open up notepad and paste in the following.
cudaminer.exe -q --algo=scrypt --url=stratum+tcp://stratum.moopool.com:3333 --userpass=kirk.Reddit.gpu:Narwhal
Now save it as StartMining.bat in the miner folder and run it.
You should start seeing blocks detected, and once the pool tunes into your hashing power you can check the hash rate of your shares to get a feel for what you're capable of.
-q is for quiet mode, when turned off you will see all of your hashing. When turned on you will only see your accepted shares and their total hash rates.
Now it's time to make an account at MooPool.com so we can customize the miner.
Start by adding a worker for each device you'll have mining.
Next we customize the bat file in the following manner.
Username & Password (--userpass account.worker:password)
(If you have multiple GPU's you may need additional changes to your bat file, I'm not sure how to set this up.)
Now save it and start it up. If you did everything correctly you should see you hash rate start to rise then average out on the websites dashboard. You are now helping to break "blocks" worth 50CSC each. When the pool breaks one it is distributed fairly to everyone who helped based on the amount of work they contributed. The faster the pool mines, the quicker we all get CSC.
Lastly you need to download a personal CSC wallet HERE so you can withdraw your funds. Once you have your wallet address remember to add it to your account and enable automatic payouts.
CPU Guide
To my knowledge the most efficient CPU miner at the moment is Pooler CPU Miner
Download the correct version for your machine and extract the archive to a folder somewhere convenient.
Open up notepad and paste in the following.
minerd.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.moopool.com:3333 -u kirk.Reddit.cpu -p Narwhal -q
Username (-u account.worker) Password (-p Password)
Now save it and start it up. If you did everything correctly you should see you hash rate start to rise then average out on the websites dashboard. You are now helping to break "blocks" worth 50CSC each. When the pool breaks one it is distributed fairly to everyone who helped based on the amount of work they contributed. The faster the pool mines, the quicker we all get CSC.
Lastly you need to download a personal CSC wallet HERE so you can withdraw your funds. Once you have your wallet address remember to add it to your account and enable automatic payouts.
Turning your CSC into USD
In order to sell your CSC you will need to use an exchange. So far Cryptsy(Ref) - Cryptsy (Non-Ref) is the only site that does CSC exchanges. When you're happy with the price sell off your CSC for BTC. Next take your BTC and send it to CoinBase(Ref) - CoinBase(Non-Ref) where you can easily sell it for USD and have it sent to your bank account.
Hope this helps some of you out, Happy Mining!
If you found this of use and would like to donate these are my wallets, or you can just mine with the sample .bat launchers for a bit :)

How To Dig For DogeCoin With Your Average Computer - A Full Guide

Hello fellow doge's! I posted this guide over at /beermoney and and it received a huge amount of attention. I figured I would modify it for the the DogeCoin pool to help you guys out! Hopefully it helps some of you get started.

The Absolute Crypto-Coine Beginenrs Guide to MyriadCoin-Mining

Hello, I'm a new member of the Myriadcoin-Community and I made a mining guide for crypto-currency newbies over on my blog. I thought it would fit here as well, hoping that some newbie would discover it upon his quest for mining crypto-coins. (I hope it is ok, that I just copied it over)

The Absolute Crypto-Coin Beginners Guide to MyriadCoin-Mining

Introduction

I researched the technology behind Bitcoin, especially the blockchain, for the past week because it could have been helpful with my current research on electronic voting that I am doing for my project thesis. During that I was amazed by the simple and yet powerful ideas behind crypto-currency. I was tempted to invest some of my spare money (which is not much as an undergraduate) into crypto-currencies, but was appalled by the weak points of Bitcoin, that become apparent if one researches it. (Malleability, 51% Attacks, Selfish Mining, etc. If there is interest I can maybe try to scramble together an article going in detail about attacks on crypto-currencies)
Then I discovered Myriadcoin, which solved most of the problems I had with Bitcoin. Although I myself am quite new to the Myriadcoin-Community I present to you, the absolute crypto-coin beginners guide to Myriadcoin-Mining. The following guide is written for Windows, the process may be similar on Linux/Mac OS but is not 100% the same

Setting up your Wallet

Your Myriadcoin-wallet is very much like your everyday wallet. It holds your currency, and if you lose it your money is gone.
  1. Go to the Myriadcoin homepage
  2. Download The wallet for your OS. (Currently there are Windows and Mac OS Wallets)
  3. Unzip the downloaded
  4. Start the myriadcoin-qt.exe
After the installation is done you should see your wallet stating that your current funds are 0 MYR. At the beginning the wallet has to download all the information from the blockchain, which can take a while. You can see the progress at the bottom of the wallet. Upon pressing the receive-button at the top you will see your automatically generated address. This address can be used to receive Payment. You can generate as many adresses as you want. Under Settings you can Encrypt your wallet, which you probably should do if you plan to use it seriously. Keep in mind, that if you lose your password you have no means to get to your money. Under File you can create a backup and save it somewhere.

Getting to Mine

Mining is the process which verifies currency transactions between accounts. It is simultaneously the process which generates new coins up to a limit. (20 billion is the limit for MYR). To mine a block means to solve a cryptographic puzzle in form of a hash. Myriadcoin uses 5 of those hash-algorithms. If you are a complete newbie to mining and crypto-currencies chances are you do not have specialized Hardware. Because of that it probably is best if you mine using the skein, groestl or qubit algorithms. Do not be scared of the names, I will guide you trough. If you made your mind up which of those you want to use (just pick one, if you do not want to research them) you can go to this post. The following step by step guide is using the skein algorithm with the Modified cgminer and the cryptorus mining pool. The steps can differ slightly if you use a different algorithm or pool, but should be similar.
  1. Go to the above linked post and scroll down to the Standalone Miner Section
  2. Pick a miner. (I use the modified cgminer
  3. Got to the post again and scroll to the Pools Section
  4. Pick one of the mining Pools fitting your chosen algorithm. (I pick http://myrsk.cryptorus.com/ for this one)
  5. Go to the homepage and register if necessary (Lets say my name is Testhans)
  6. Once you registered you should look for the My Workers Option
  7. There create a new worker. (Lets say I make a worker with the name Myry and the password 1234)
  8. Now unzip the Miner you downloaded
  9. Go to the folder of the miner and create a new textfile that you name run.bat
  10. Go to your pool-website and look for the stratum address. (Can be usually found on the startpage, in this my case stratum+tcp://myrsk.cryptorus.com:3333)
The run.bat should look as follows:
name_of_miner.exe -o stratum-address -u YouName.Workername -p Workerpassword (For some algorithms you have to set the algorithm as an option too)
This is how my config looks with the examples above:
cgminer.exe --skein -o stratum+tcp://myrsk.cryptorus.com:3333 -u Testhans.Myry -p 1234
Save the run.bat and you should be able to start the miner through double clicking. A console-window should open displaying the progress. Every time you find a share a message saying something along the lines of "Accepted 214sabc5fe 4/2" should be displayed.
You can enter your Myriadcoin-address inside the Account-Options of your pool, so you can receive your share of the coins you mined. Typically you have to arrange the transaction yourself. Usually the miner can take a lot of options to optimize the amount it can mine, but as a newbie you are likely to break more than you get out of it. The standard-configuration of miner-tools is in most cases pretty good allready.

Further Resources

You can find further resources on the bitcointalk-forums and the awesome subreddit. Also there is another mining-guide, which goes into more detail on all of the algorithms and can be quite helpfull if you are just new to Myriadcoin and not to the crypto-currencies as such.
If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to leave a comment, and if you found my guide useful and want to share some of your hard-mined coins, you can do that also. My Myriadcoin address is MKF8EPYksAV4Bn7M8HLEMyvEPtq3EWeGVW

AMD 7950 only at 15 Kh/s with any setting

I've tried to set up doge mining with cgminer (only did some bitcoin mining before) following the wiki's/sidebar's tutorials but no matter what kind of settings I'm using in my bat file, the 7950 will stay at slightly below 15 Kh/s (and 50 °C).
The barebones bat file looks as follows:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o mypool -u myuser.myworker -p mypassword -I 20
No matter what card-specific settings I add, the Kh/s doesn't change.
I'm mining on dogehouse if that's in any case relevant. I'm also using Windows 7 x64 and Catalyst 13.12 drivers (updated from 13.8 to no avail).
Any suggestions? Thanks!
EDIT: I have fixed my problem. For some reason the bat file does not correctly set the intensity and reverts to the lowest (default?) value.
Manually setting it to the desired value within cgminer by pressing g->i->20->enter gives me the desired Kh/s.

Hey you. Yes you with the eyes. Are you new to the world of crypto coin mining? Have no idea what a dogecoin is? Want to start mining dogecoins today and just can't seem to figure it out or get it to work?
Well have I got much help for you! About a week ago, I finally started mining after two painful days of trying to get it to work. Basically, I was a total noob and didn't really understand anything about mining in general. Because of the joy mining has brought me so far I am writing this guide to hopefully help out new members or other total noobs.
It's safe to say I've been bitten by the dogecoin bug. I started out with a measly 50 khash/sec and made approximately 10 coins in 12 hours. * My reaction when I finally got my miner to work * Reaction cont.
Now I'm up to 500 khash/sec after figuring out all the 'nuts and bolts' of mining. wow...such optimization...many hash
I'll break this guide down into three categories: Detailed Info, CGMiner Config for AMD Cards, and lastly, CUDAMiner for Nvidia cards.
Detailed Info very words....wow
A dogecoin is a type of crypto currency that is traded against bitcoins in a crypto currency marketplace.
You can earn dogecoins by contributing hashes (computing power) to a mining pool to help find a block.
There are a certain amount of dogecoins that will be released. These coins are released in the form of a block ranging in quantity of 1-1,000,000 doge coins. It is worth noting that the total quantity of coins per block will soon be halved to just 500,000.
Things you will need to mine: * dogecoin wallet * computer with a GPU * an account with a mining pool * a worker for the mining pool * mining software
1) [http://dogecoin.com](Download the doge coin wallet and install it)
2) Turn off your computer's anti-virus software and allow the dogecoin wallet through your fire wall. *VERY IMPORTANT
3) Run the dogecoin wallet and let it sync with the network. It is important to note that this can take a short amount of time or even up to 12 hours to complete. Just be patient. Use that time to research mining more.

Once your wallet has synced with the network, it is time to sign up with a mining pool. Think of a mining pool as a virtual supercomputer that is made up of many smaller computers connected together. This pool or 'super computer' allows for greater processing power. More processing power = greater chance of the pool finding a block.

Finding a pool
"Dear shibes!
Be careful when running Java and/or entering the usepass on sites. There are phishing sites out there that imitate other pools to steal your data.
When accessing a mining pool, DO NOT follow any redirects, always access the site directly and check the URL. For extra security, make sure you're using https://
Don't run Java!" <--- not my words, but very good warning to take into consideration
1) Perform a quick google search or use the links in the side bar to find a pool!
2) For this example I will be using https://fast-pool.com/index.php (I in no way, shape, or form endorse this particular pool. It was the first one I clicked. Feel free to use any pool you want, as the sites are all the same.)
3) You're going to want to click "Sign Up" in the menu on the left of the page. After clicking, sign up for an account.
4) After signing up for an account, log into your account. (For the sake of my example my mining pool site username will be "Shibe")
5) Now we will create a pool worker. Click "My Workers" in the menu on the left side of the page.
6) Choose a worker name and worker password and click submit. *NOTE THE WORKER NAME IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR ACCOUNT USERNAME
7) For the sake of the example my workers name is "worker1" and the password is "x". *Note capitalization matters so don't forget it.
Now we will download a mining software and configure it to mine.
Before we do that I want to clarify what the info we will be using to configure our miner is.
1) Click "Getting Started"
In my example pool under getting started you will see this in "Step 3":
  1. Configure your miner.
    Settings for Stratum (recommended): STRATUM: stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com PORT: 3336 Username: Weblogin.Worker Password: Worker Password
If you use a command-line miner, type:
./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3336 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password
The above explained:
Final Step Regarding Mining Pools
We need to add our payment address to our mining pool account so that we can receive the dogecoins we help mine.
1) Click "Edit Account" on the menu on the left side of the page.
2) Scroll down until you see "PAYMENT ADDRESS".
3) Minimize the webpage and go to your doge coin wallet.
4) In your dogecoin wallet click the "Much Receive" tab.
5) You will see the Label "Default" with an "Address" composed of a long random string of letters and numbers.
6) Right-click that string of random numbers and letters and select "copy address".
7) Maximize the pools webpage again and paste that address into "PAYMENT ADDRESS".
8) Enter you pin and click "Update Account".
WE'RE NOW READY TO DOWNLOAD A MINER such hooray....many celebrate
IF YOU HAVE AN AMD CARD, THIS SECTION IS FOR YOU!
*Note AMD cards are much better for mining than Nvidia. It's just the way it is!
We will be using cgminer to mine dogecoins with our AMD cards.
While there are newer versions of cgminer avaliable you're going to want to download cgminer version 3.7.2 because any higher versions do not support GPU mining.
1) Make sure your AMD drivers are up to date.
2) This version of cgminer is now only available on gitub at this url. The option to download the zip file in on the bottom left right side column.
3) After downloading the file, extract its contents to a folder on your desktop.
4) Before we do that go to Control Panel Folder Options View select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and click apply.
BEFORE YOU TRY THE BELOW, RUN THE APPLICATION AND INPUT THE SERVER URL:PORT (stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3336) "enter" USERNAME (Shibe.worker1) "enter" and PASSWORD (x) "enter".
*If the application runs without giving you errors hit the [S] and select "create config file" and hit enter.
5) If that didn't work, we will make a .conf file that allows cgminer to run correctly.
6) Now go to the folder you extracted cgminer into.
7) Right-click anywhere in the folder and select "New" Text document.
8) Right-click the new text document you just created and select "Edit".
9) Copy and paste the following into that new text document leaving no space at the top and enter the appropriate pool information accordingly. Noticed I used my STRATUM info from my example.
IF YOU HAVE ONLY ONE GPU USE THE BELOW
{ "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3336", "user" : "Shibe.worker1", "pass" : "x" } ] , "intensity" : "10", "vectors" : "1", "worksize" : "256", "kernel" : "scrypt", "lookup-gap" : "0", "thread-concurrency" : "0", "shaders" : "0", "gpu-engine" : "0-0", "gpu-fan" : "0-0", "gpu-memclock" : "0", "gpu-memdiff" : "0", "gpu-powertune" : "0", "gpu-vddc" : "0.000", "temp-cutoff" : "95", "temp-overheat" : "0", "temp-target" : "0", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "hotplug" : "5", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "0", "scan-time" : "30", "scrypt" : true,
IF YOU HAVE TWO GPU's IN CROSSFIRE USE THE BELOW CODE
{ "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3336", "user" : "Shibe.worker1", "pass" : "x" } ] , "intensity" : "10,10", "vectors" : "1,1", "worksize" : "256,256", "kernel" : "scrypt,scrypt", "lookup-gap" : "0,0", "thread-concurrency" : "0,0", "shaders" : "0,0", "gpu-engine" : "0-0,0-0", "gpu-fan" : "0-0,0-0", "gpu-memclock" : "0,0", "gpu-memdiff" : "0,0", "gpu-powertune" : "0,0", "gpu-vddc" : "0.000,0.000", "temp-cutoff" : "95,95", "temp-overheat" : "0,0", "temp-target" : "0,0", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "hotplug" : "5", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "0", "scan-time" : "30", "scrypt" : true, "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "shares" : "0", "kernel-path" : "/uslocal/bin" }
10) Click save-as Save as type, "All files" and rename the document to: cgminer.conf
11) Click save and run program.
12) If it still doesn't work try changing the intensity to a lower number or changing the workspace value to 64.
Everything should work now. If I have made any errors or if there are easier ways of doing this please let me know so that I can edit this. This is just what worked for me.
IF YOU HAVE A NVIDIA CARD THIS SECTION IS FOR YOU!
Before we do anything, go to Control Panel Folder Options View select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and click apply.
We will be using Cudaminer version 2013-07-13 https://mega.co.nz/#!hVREmSKA!VaGCdh3Ykfp-e8IOTFWaEXJGMa1JNVqPcdxawkCPRSE
1) Download Cudaminer version 2013-07-13 from that link and extract the contents to a folder on the desktop.
2) Open that folder and look for the Application.
3) When you've found the location of the Application it's-self you're going to right-click anywhere in the folder and select "New" Text document.
8) Right-click the new text document you just created and select "Edit".
9) Copy and paste this to the top line of the blank text document leaving no space in front and input the appropriate url, username and password from whatever pool you use. (I will be using my example pool info stated earlier in this post):
cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3336 -u Shibe.worker1 -p x
10) Click save-as Save as type, "All files" and rename the document to: Launch.bat
11) Click save.
12) Double click the Launch.bat file you just created to run the program.
13) Wait for the program to auto-tune your settings and then it will start mining automatically.
Everything should work now. If I have made any errors or if there are easier ways of doing this please let me know so that I can edit this. This is just what worked for me.

MULTIPOOL questions here pretty basic

I was thinking about switching from wemineltc to mining multiple cryptos but I have a few things I can't seem to figure out before I make the leap.
  1. I've been looking at multipool, but are there better options?
  2. Does multipool payout only in bitcoins? or does it pay out in whatever your mining? It would be nice to get paid in one currency so i don't have to create a bunch of wallets.
  3. I currently use cgminer to mine scrypt would I have to change my bat file more than just the url, name, pass?

How to make your Bitcoin/Altcoin miner tweet!

After asking the lovely community on /BitcoinMining if anyone could make me a tiny piece of software that would tweet some statistics for my Bitcoin mining rig, and like the brilliant community that you are, stfnhrrs came through!!
A big thanks to stfnhrrs, and if you feel like this helped you, feel free to send him some BTC in return for his hard work!
1HHvWuzLWo8ALmBvE4VM44kcLbET2DBM1F
Right, now onto the tutorial on how you can set up a twitter account to tweet your miners stats!
This tutorial is for BFGminer and CGMiner, however, it may be compatible with other mining programs too.
First thing you want to do is compile a .bat file to load up BFGminer, something that looks like this...
bfgminer -o http://URL:PORT -uUSERNAME -pPASSWORD --api-listen --api-allow 127.0.0.1
By adding --api-listen --api-allow 127.0.0.1, this allows the application to grab all the relevant information you have requested, happy days!
Next thing is you're going to want to generate a twitter account. Once you've done this, go to https://dev.twitter.com/apps/new and log in (If necessary).
Choose the app name as something like 'My Bitcoin mining rig' - the description can be anything, the website can be anything you choose, for example http://www.randomwebsite.com - accept the ToS and fill in the captcha!
Now you've created a twitter app, great. Now click settings and change access to read, write and access direct messages.
Next go onto the OAuth tool tab and fill in the access token and access token secret with a very long and hard to guess string of alphanumerical characters. You're going to need these later.
Save everything on the app, copy all your OAuth tools keys, tokens and secrets into a notepad. Leave twitter because we're done with that now.
Now you're going to need to compile this code into a .exe file...
http://pastebin.com/tB9B1d4E
But you need to change something, change...
  1.  string oauth_consumer_key = "INSERT_OAUTH_CONSUMER_KEY";
  2.  string oauth_consumer_secret = "INSERT OAUTH_CONSUMER_SECRET";
  3.  string oauth_token = "INSERT_OAUTH_TOKEN";
  4.  string oauth_token_secret = "INSERT_OAUTH_TOKEN_SECRET";
... To your relevant information, THEN compile it into a .exe!
If you run the exe once, it will tweet once. So you're going to need to schedule a task to run the app ever X minutes.
I've set mine to run ever 1 minute but it's really up to you.
Drop the application into your C: drive, open up CMD, paste this and hit enter:
schtasks /create /sc minute /mo 20 /tn "Twitter Script" /tr c:\miningtweets.exe
Where it says /mo 20, that means it will execute the file every 20 minutes. To change it, just change the number!
And away you go! Your miner is now tweeting to the world!!

cgminer 3.7.2 overheating my 5770. Do --temp-target or --temp-cutoff actually do anything?

I have an old HD 5770 which I thought I could pop some coins out of but I cannot get the mining software set up. I am running cgminer 3.7.2, and with default settings fresh from the install I get ~27kH/s but that seems low, others report ~130-190 with 5770's. When I try others suggested settings (seems mainly higher intensities) I get a boost to my hash rate but the card gets very hot and shoots up to over 90C in a minute or two and the safeties don't seem to kick in.
--auto-gpu with a temperature target seems like it should be ideal, but I cannot get it to hold any target temperatures.
Does --temp-cutoff do anything? I usually monitor the temperature with speedfan and shut it down when it hits mid 90's, cgminer does not seem to care about high temperature. I thought it had a default setting of 95 for the cutoff, am I mistaken?
Are there alternative programs for AMD mining with a pool? I cannot get guiminer to start, and most other programs only have documentation for bitcoin or litecoin.
I should add, I am passing these setting with the mine.bat file, I tried messing with the .conf file but it didn't seem to change any temperature settings either.
edit: Thanks for the help so far. I think my old .conf file might have been stopping my new temperature settings from being taken up. I got a "REST" status in the kH/s area when I hit the cutoff, but cgminer did not seem to pick up the trail again after the temperature dropped back to normal, it said it was reactivating but I just got that "stratum from pool detected new block message" over and over again. I really like cudaminer for the "yay!"s and such. I don't even know when I hash something in cgminer.

Need help asap, mining with 3 amd gpu´s!

Hello guys im new here so hello everyone. this seems like a nice forum ive just visit many times and registered today :)
Now to my problem, i mine cryptocoins with 2*Xfx r9280x gpu´s. And bought yesterday a budget amd gpu the 6450 1gb hehe. Now my problem was that i wanted to be able to do things while using both the r280´s but my computer couldnt handle it so i bought the 6450 to have as main gpu for ordinary use, browsing web, listen music and play dota 2. So now i have all 3 gpu´s installed and working. But my BIG problem is when i installed the 6450 and fired up the miner .bat file the miners hash at half there usually speed, the 2 r280´s that is? So im clueless what to do, to get them not halfing the hash rate? Here is my .bat file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.vericoin.info:7777 -u user -p password -I 16
That .bat file worked yesterday when i just had the 2 r280´s but after installed the 6450 (wich i dont mine with) the hashrate went to half speed? Pls help and if u want donation for helping me solve this pls post your bitcoin adress or vertcoin adress.
Thanks in advance :)

17kh/s with a 7950...

Okay so i had this same problem when i was trying to mine bitcoins which is why i stopped but i really want to overcome it. Im getting ~17kh/s with my slightly overclocked HD 7950.
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://teamdoge.com:3333 -u (username).(workername) -p (workerpass)
Thats my bat file. But its super late so im going to bed and i will hopefully try some suggestions when i wake up. Any help is appreciated.

Sapphire Dual-X 7950 - Rejected (Below Difficulty)?

Hi everyone! I'm new to bitcoin mining, and i'm trying to get a config to mine using cgminer with my gpu (in the title). Right now i'm using this config (using a bat file) to get started:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u Workername -p pass --gpu-powertune=20 -I 19
but i am getting just a lot of "reject" (below difficulty). I really have no idea how could i get the config to work properly. Can you please help me? Thanks a lot!

i just can't get cgminer to work.

i'm really having trouble mining doge. i used to GPU mine bitcoin, but stopped once that became pointless. i have cgminer, I'm set up with crypto valley mining pool, and I'm using it on a windows 7 pc with an amd gpu. i start up cgminer, and it says input server details URL: so i enter "stratum+tcp://server1.cryptovalley.com:3333
then my worker info and password. then, nothing happens. cgminer says "stratum from pool 0 detected new block" over and over again. cgminer says I'm getting about 184 Mh/s, but my dashboard on the mining pool says I'm not mining anything. i tried to follow this guide http://doges.org/index.php?topic=592.0 but it wasn't helpful. i really don't get what do do with the .bat file or anything. am i missing something? thanks!

What hashrate should I expect from a ATI 7850?

I thought I would have a hashrate in the 300+ range however I seem stuck at 16.6kh/s.
I am running cgminer with a .bat file below.
FYI - I used to mine bitcoin but gave up due to the futility. Glad to see I can get somewhere with dogecoin!
What should I change below?

LTC mining payout questions

So I learned about bitcoins and i decided to research it a bit, I started using BitMinter and when I was talking to someone about it they told me to look into litecoins and how they're easier to make with my GPU.
A question has arose though that my research put it so that my twin frozr 7950 OC/be average hashes a little over 600kh/s In actual practice (i now use cgminer) i have the .bat file written as many people suggested. I currently get on average 587.4 kh/s according to CGminer. No matter what pool i'm joining though It says on live monitoring that it's only getting "15" hash and when i ran my computer for 4 days straight, yet i only managed to make .0004 litecoins in payout. (mind you i'm using pay per share) Does this number makes sense if I were constantly checking the number to make sure no error had arose and that it was doing blocks?

New 365 pool: MingoPool!

If you know BitCoins, you will know that this virtual coins have a big potential, but mining BTC its hard at the moment, and risky because you have to invest in hardware. But with this coin you don’t need especial hardware, with your CPU or an average graphics card its enough! So what are you waiting for? Join Mingo pool now!
To start follow this steps:
1) Register
You need to register at www.mingopool.com, its a PoolMing site, with thousands of users mining together. To have better results you can also mine by yourself using the wallet, but you can be months or weeks miningh without results. After de registration you have to create a “worker” to get access to the “pool”:
Just click in Workers and then fill user and password, we recomend that you use a capital letter and a number in your password
2) Mining
Mining with CPU:
Download the CPU mining program in mingopool, version 64/32
http://mingopool.com/MingoCPU.rar
Extract the content and fill the following:
Right click on “mingocpu.bat” and then edit. In “weblogin.worker” write user_you_have_created.worker_created , then in password put the worker password
Advanced options:
-t :Its the number of cores you want to use for mining -o :This is the url and the poolmining port -u :Our pool access ID, with the user name and the worker name. -p : This is our password
Eg.: My account is “Fulanito” , my worker is “1”, and my password: “123” Also i want to use the six cores of my CPU:
minerd.exe -t 6 -o stratum+tcp://kivan.no-ip.org:3338 -u Fulanito.1 -p 123
GPU Version:
Download the GPU mining program in mingopool, version 64/32
http://mingopool.com/MingoGPU.rar
Extract the content and fill the following:
Right click on “mingocpu.bat” and then edit. In “weblogin.worker” write user_you_have_created.worker_created , then in password put the worker password
Advanced options
-I :Its the intensity, add this parameter at the end of the document but in the same line. Eg: cgminer.exe --keccak -o "stratum+tcp://kivan.no-ip.org:333" -u weblogin.nombreworker -p contraseña -I 14
There are more options but this is the most important.
Eg: My account in mingopoolpool is Fulanito , my Worker is 1, and my password is 123 :
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://kivan.no-ip.org:3338 -u Fulanito.1 -p 123 -I 14
Once you made this just double click on the direct acces and you can start mining!
3) Wallet
The last thing you need is a wallet, you can download it form here:
Windows Wallet v0.9.0 (Dropbox) Windows Wallet v0.9.0 ZIP (Mega.co.nz)
When you execute i tit will sync on the net, this can be a process of hours, but once its syncronised you can start usin it.
If the wallet does nto get sync, go to: %APPDATA%\365Coin and copy the downloaded file with the wallet 365.conf in this foldder. Restart the wallet and sync again.
4) Benefits
To obtain benefits you shoud change the coin for USD or EUR in this webpage:
https://pmtocoins.com/dashboard.php?page=home&market=47
In the future we will ad more webpages similar to this.
Every bitcoin in this moment are 500€ and at the moment the change for this coin is 1 365 coin = 250 BTC, wich is 125000~ €
This coin is in a increasing state, was created on 08/03/2014, thats why its value can rise and also the difficult to obtain it is low. Thats why we encourage you to start mining, benefits on a long term can be astronomical!

GUIDE: Coin launches and being prepared.

New CryptoCoin launch preperation guide;
I've created this short guide for new users who want to jump in on the mining of a newly launched coins. Being prepared and getting on the network immediately will lead to you finding the earliest blocks (some coins have block rewards that are higher in the beginning)
Step One - Prepare the Data/Wallet directory
The first step in this guide will be to setup the directory that will hold your wallet data, config file and blockchain store. We want to set this up first so we can immediately start solo mining without screwing around with settings that are common across all CryptoCoin wallets.
Windows 7/8; C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Appdata\Roaming\COIN_NAME
Windows XP; C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Appdata\Roaming\COIN_NAME
Linux; ~/.coinname/
MacOS X - ~/Library/Application Support/
Create a directory in one of the above directories that will match the name of the coin (ie: Bitcoin). In this directory we are going to make the default .conf file;
Default options listed in the COINNAME.conf will be as follows;
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=YOUR_DESIRED_USER_NAME
rpcpassword=YOUR_DESIRED_PASSWORD
rpcport=NUMERIC_PORT_TO_LISTEN_ON
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
Change the rpcport parameter to a generic port # if you plan on only having one batch file to start solo mining. WARNING, this method will interfere with mining if multiple wallets are running using the same port number. If the launch forum post lists default rpcport #s, use them instead of one generic port. (cryptocointalk/bitcointalk).
Pay attention to the original launch information forum post, adding nodes with addnode=ipaddress, can help speed up node discovery and wallet sync. You can add these options fairly quickly with a cut and paste.
If you have multiple rigs and plan to throw their hashes at the wallet if it's not on the same machine, use the .conf option rpcallowip=your.network.address.* (eg: rpcallowip=192.168.0.*).
Step Two - Create your .bat file
If you've been mining for awhile, this should be a simple step, otherwise, it is beyond this tutorial on how to fine tune your mining software.
The .bat file should only be a few lines long;
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:WALLET_RPCPORT_PARAM -u YOUR_USERNAME -p YOUR_PASSWORD the_rest_of_your_miner_config_here
This is the default for scrypt mining. Always pay attention to the announcement post for specific mining options (CPU only, keccek, scrypt-n, etc).
Change the IP address in -o option to your wallet machines ip address, should be you mining from a different machine. (making sure to set the above rpcallowip= correctly)
note: adding gen=1 to your config file will automatically start the wallets internal block generation routine, by passing the need to start your mining software. Just remember to edit this option later if you run the wallet continually and do no plan to directly mine.
Step Three - Mine!
Download and install/extract wallet, run the wallet. If everything is set correctly, you should be ahead of the game and finding blocks very quickly.
